Our History

Our History So Far...

Motivated by a desire for a confessional Reformed Baptist church in southwest Indiana, Cornerstone Fellowship Church was planted by Heritage Baptist Church of Owensboro, KY in November 2008.

Five families that traveled from Southwestern Indiana met with the elders of Heritage for prayer and planning from July 2007 to its launch in 2008. Pastors Ted Christman, Keith Maddy, Sam Waldron, Joe Wilson and Richard Barcellos gave their blessing and support to the families that spearheaded the effort.

Cornerstone held its first service on November 16, 2008 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Newburgh, IN. Several other families joined the Heritage families from the inception of Cornerstone and became members of the church in April 2009.

Cornerstone constituted as a church on February 15, 2009. Cornerstone Fellowship is eternally grateful for the selfless sacrifice and shepherding that her founding pastor Eddie Goodwin showed the congregation.

In May 2017, Cornerstone called John Divito to be her pastor. We are excited to see what lies ahead in the days to come, and it is our constant prayer that Cornerstone Fellowship will be a beacon of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ until He returns.
